Web Talk
So, you want to start a website but are a little daunted by the thought.
I had written a bunch of words on this page to tell you why you should build your own website... But I think I can help you much more by just keeping it simple!
Go to the links in the credits page, which you access by clicking the last link on the menu at the left.
You shold be able to convince yourself in no time at all that YOU CAN DO THIS!
These are but a few of the many places you can go on the internet to learn about coding web pages. Feel free to use your browser and look for more.
The trick is, just take it a little at a time. Learn the first things first. Start with HTML. Then learn to style your pages with CSS, first internal, then external. Right click your mouse over a web page, and a see if you can find little bits that you understand. Sometimes you won't see everything that is going on behind the scenes, like linked files and the like. Don't worry about the things you don't undrstand. Keep at it, and soon you will understand. Learn to pay attention to every little thing. What seems like a major problem sometimes could just be one little comma in the wrong place, of a semi-colon that should have been a colon. Just keep in mind that you are working with a complete idiiot - your computer!
I am by no means a highly skilled coder, but I get by. If I can do it, why not you? The beauty of learning code is that no matter how large a website gets, it is made up of little tiny lines of code, done one at a time. When you put a few of them together and it works. WOW
