Kudos, Credits, and Links

The sites listed below have been of immense help to me. I am a non-schooled or un-edgemacated if you will, self taught web-master. I am not the most knowledgable, and my work may not be on par with the pros, but I have received a lot of satisfaction by learning enough to keep working on my hobby of supporting non-profit organizations such as the DD950 web site, for a bunch of old sailors.

The below mentioned sites are not only a goldmine of information but also provide tips and techniques to help you build a site with pages that don't leave your visitors waiting for the site to load.

Since I am seft-taught, I have had to depend on those folks who have been generous enough to share their knowledge with me. Fortunately there are many. If you are interested in learning to code your own website, or honing your skills, these may be valuable to you.

www.pagetutor.com - Joe at Page Tutor has a very informative and fun site for teaching the basics as well as some advanced knowledge for fledgling web-tutors.

www.w3schools.com - This site contains much information for the beginners as well as the seasoned web-master. The site contains Tutorials, References, and Examples pertaining to most of the languages required to build quality and efficient web-sites.

Dynamic Drive CSS Library - Here you can find a wealth of page formats, buttons, menus and a whole lot more to help you spruce up your site.

And many more...

There are many web sites that offer free code, scripting, images, etc.. I have used some of them, for example, I didn't create the U.S. Flag in the corner of this page. It was a free online .gif image. They even told me how to put on my page. I wish to thank all of those un-named folks whom I have learned from.

I will try to add the good free and very low cost, sites as I find them.
